My Sofa
Case Study
UX/UI Design for MySofa
MySofa, pride themselves to be the ultimate destination for exceptional furniture that brings comfort and style to living spaces. At MySofa, they believe that furniture should do more than just fill a room; it should create an atmosphere that reflects unique personality and enhances everyday experiences. However, having a good online presence, they need to improve their product detail page, as users quickly leave the page whenever they are shopping. This became a great concern for them, as they seek a UX designer to understand and solve this problem for them.
Design Overview
Scenario:
I have been approached by a sofa company and asked to redesign their Product Detail Page for their existing e-commerce website.
The Problem
Following some UX research with their customers, they have been made aware of the following issues with their existing Product Detail Page, which they’d like me to try and resolve:
“The images are too small on a mobile device – I want to be able to get a really good idea of how it will look and feel in my home”.
“I want to be able to see the sofa in the different colours available”.
“The current page doesn’t tell me why I should buy from you over a competitor, there are lots of things I’d like to know about, such as where the product was made, if it comes with a warranty, and how quickly I can get it”.
“The dimension need to be easy to find and understand”.
Testing
From research to usability studies, these were all completed at the first phase of this design. However, users and stakeholders have the ability to test the design using the testing methods utilised in UX design, which was developed to include the project owner in the decision-making process.
Solution
“The images are too small on a mobile device – I want to be able to get a really good idea of how it will look and feel in my home”. [Now, images are big, and users can also use the expand view option].
“I want to be able to see the sofa in the different colours available”. [Available colours are now available]
“The current page doesn’t tell me why I should buy from you over a competitor, there are lots of things I’d like to know about, such as where the product was made, if it comes with a warranty, and how quickly I can get it”.
[These options are now available on the present design].
“The dimension need to be easy to find and understand”. [Users can now see dimensions and are easy to understand].
